Last Sermon Of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad Sallallahu alaihi wasallam (Khutbatul wada)

Certainly! The last sermon of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), also known as Khutbatul Wada (The Farewell Sermon), was delivered on the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah, 10 AH (632 CE) at Mount Arafat during his final Hajj. It is one of the most profound speeches in history, emphasizing human rights, justice, and unity.

Here is the translated text of the sermon:

The Last Sermon of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ)

"O People! Listen to me attentively, for I do not know whether I shall ever meet you again after this year, in this place."

"O People! Just as you regard this month, this day, and this city as sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Do not hurt anyone so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your Lord, and that He will indeed reckon your deeds."

"Allah has forbidden you to take usury (interest), therefore all interest obligations shall henceforth be waived. Your capital, however, is yours to keep. You will neither inflict nor suffer any injustice. Allah has judged that there shall be no riba (interest), and the first interest obligation I cancel is that of my uncle, Abbas ibn Abdul Muttalib."

"O People! Fear Allah concerning women! You have certain rights over your women, but they also have rights over you. Be kind to them, for they are your partners and committed helpers. If they abide by your rights, then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness."

"O People! All mankind is from Adam, and Adam was created from dust. There is no superiority of an Arab over a non-Arab, or a non-Arab over an Arab; nor is a white superior to a black, or a black superior to a white—except by piety and good action. Indeed, the noblest of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous."

"O People! Every Muslim is the brother of another Muslim, and all Muslims form one brotherhood. Nothing belonging to another is lawful for a Muslim unless it is given freely and willingly."

"Beware! Do not go astray after I am gone, striking at each other's necks."

"O People! No prophet or messenger will come after me, and no new faith will be born. Worship your Lord, offer your five daily prayers, fast in the month of Ramadan, give Zakat (charity), and perform Hajj if you can afford to. Obey your leaders, and you will enter Paradise."

"O People! When you will be asked about me, what will you say?"

The companions responded:
"We bear witness that you have conveyed the message, fulfilled your mission, and given us sincere advice."

The Prophet (ﷺ) then raised his index finger towards the sky and said three times:
"O Allah! Be my witness! O Allah! Be my witness! O Allah! Be my witness!"

This sermon serves as a timeless charter of human rights, justice, and Islamic values. It is a guiding light for Muslims and humanity at large. May Allah grant us the ability to follow these teachings. Ameen!
